When you come to Richard Chan Orthodontics, our team plays a big part in your smile journey. Every staff member at our Alaska, Bothell, Mill Creek and Monroe orthodontics practice has an important role. As we ring in 2020 and the Year of the Rat, I thought it was the perfect time to help you get to know my team a little better. Every year at our practice, we celebrate Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year. So, what better way to give you a glimpse into our personalities here at Richard Chan Orthodontics than have each team member share which animal they are on the Chinese zodiac and the trait they identify with?
If you’re not familiar, Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year, celebrates the beginning of a new year based on the traditional Chinese calendar. The festivities begin on the first of the lunar calendar. In 2020, this means Lunar New Year kicks off on January 25.
The Chinese zodiac is a repeating cycle of 12 years and every year is represented by an animal. The 12 Chinese horoscope animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Your Chinese zodiac animal depends on the year you were born and you may find you have the traits or attributes associated with it. 2020 is the Year of the Rat. So, if you were born in 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 or 2020, it’s your year!
